TKO Studios has only been around for 18 months, but the press and fans couldn’t be more excited!

Shortly after TKO’s arrival on the comic scene, The A.V. Club praised the unique release style and genre comics produced, saying, “it champions progressive ideas that have the potential to transform how comics are distributed, purchased, and read.”

The New York Times pointed out TKO’s “impressive slate of talent,” saying “TKO, which is also eschewing superheroes — the bread and butter of the industry — has recruited top talent for the comics.”

The Hollywood Reporter was quick to note how TKO Studios plans to “shake up the system,” while highlighting the “unique selling point — a different attitude towards distribution and formatting.”

Publisher’s Weekly praised TKO Studios’ ability to bring wide-range of artists and writers on board, saying, “For a new publisher, TKO has some impressive artists. Really well-known comics creators, whether writers or illustrators.”

As for the books themselves, the praise continues to roll in. The A.V. Club called SARA, by Garth Ennis and Steve Epting, “a heartbreaking character study about what one woman will sacrifice in the name of her country.”

The Beat on SENTIENT: “Jeff Lemire and Gabriel Walta are a match made in heaven and deliver a very human story starring a character who’s not human at all.”

Tripwire Magazine said Joshua Dysart and Alberto Ponticelli’s GOODNIGHT PARADISE “succeeds in being layered, compulsive and entertaining.”

Comicbook.com gave Tze Chun and Artyom Trakhanov’s THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS a 5 out of 5 rating: “It’s the unexpected elements that make this book sing, and what a brilliant song it turns out to be.”

The A.V. Club on Roxane Gay and Ming Doyle’s THE BANKS: “The Banks is the best kind of heist story: a sharp, tight robbery with escalating tensions and threats coming from every direction.”

The Beat on Natalie Chaidez and Andy Belanger’s POUND FOR POUND: “Chaidez created a thriller so over-the-top it can only be made as a comic.”

The A.V. Club on Tze Chun, Mike Weiss, and Dan McDaid’s THE FEARSOME DOCTOR FANG: “It aims for high-flying thrills and accomplishes exactly what it sets out to do.’

Comicbook.com says Nik Virella, Isaac Goodhart, Sal and Steve Simeone’s apocalyptic horror tale EVE OF EXTINCTION “manages to be both an urban tale of apocalypse and an intimate family story.”
